Hey guys.  Our office uses Endpoint Protection: Small Business Edition.  We recently got rid of one of the computers and then realized afterward that it was the computer that had our manager program on it.  This computer has been thrown out, so there's no way of getting it back.  Does anyone know if there's a way we can download a new manager?  (We're using Windows XP.)

I think we purchased and installed the original through the internet, because I can't find any physical evidence of our program, by which I mean, there's no disc to reinstall from.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

    Hello,

In your case, you would have to follow the Steps as below:

    1) Download the Latest Version of SEP 12.0 from https://fileconnect.symantec.com

    2) Once downloaded, you can Install Symantec Protection Center on your machine back.

    3) Later there are 2 ways for get your clients Reporting back to the Symantec Protection Center

    • You can Deploy the packages back to all the client machines  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH93328                                  OR
    • Get the Sylink.xml file and Run the SylinkReplacer Utility from the Server to all client machines.

NOTE: Incase, you are installing Symantec Protection Center on XP Pro machine, you need to know Windows XP has a 10 concurrent connection limitation that has been built in by Microsoft.

I personally would recommend you to install Symantec Protection Center on machine with Server OS (if any).

Check this Video on How to create client install packages with Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.0 SBE:

    Hope this helps!!!

As mentioned above, you can download the manager from FileConnect. This requires that you have an M# (serial number) which you can obtain from a License Certificate.

If you are unable to find your License Certificate, then you will want to open a web case or call into customer care to have them search your license entitlements and provide you with a serial number for FileConnect access.
