This issue has been solved. See solution.

We are unable to get the original password used during the original installation due some staff movements. is there a way i can retrieve/change the original password? The reason i will be doing this is to minimize the size of the embedded database - using dbunload command. i was able to fix all issues that came with this application and currently i am using mr4 and was able to erase all previous packages.. thanks god!!.

Hopefully, there is still hope for this. thanks in advance.

Hi Pords,

If you need to reset your admin password use this (otherwise if it's the database password, look below):

To reset the password, follow the below steps:Open a command prompt window.  Navigate to the Tools subfolder in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager directory on the drive and location where you installed the manager.          Note: The default installation path is C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools From the command line run the batch file named "resetpass.bat"  This will reset the password to a default user name and password of admin/admin.4.    Following login, user will be prompted to change the password.  The password may be the same as the previous password.

Database Password Reset:

1.     Click on Start > All Programs > Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager > Management Server Configuration Wizard. 2.     Click on Reconfigure the management server. 3.     Click Next. 4.     Ensure the server name, server port and web console port are correct. 5.     Click Next. 6.     Select Embedded database. 7.     Click Next. 8.     Enter the new password. 9.     Confirm the new password. 10.  Click Next. 11.  This will start the reconfiguration of the database. This step may take several minutes.

Thank you for your continued support.  Stay tuned for terrific changes to the community!
