Lots of Errors with Symantec Management Platform SP2 HF1

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I'm trying to use Recovery Solutions and I had everything working pretty nicely until I tried to Install Symantec Management Platform SP2 HF1, the Install Errored out half way through. I didnt grab that error log but I restarted the computer and am now getting a multitude of error messages. As soon as windows server 2003 R2 (32bit) comes up it says

"At least one of the drivers failed during startup use event viewer to examine the event log for details" then every 4 minutes I will get a message saying: "Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger - An unhandled exception ('system.xml.xmlexception') occurred in AeXSvc.exe [1536]. Just in time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has just-in-time debugging enabled. In visual studio, Just in time debugging can be enabled from tools/options/debugging/just-in-time. Check the documentation index for just-in-time debugging errors for more information."

I don't have Visual Studio Installed on the machine, I do have SQL Server management studio express but there is nothing about debugging that I saw. Here are the errors in the event viewer log that come up here are 5 error messages:

Here are the error messages in Altiris Logviewer

They come 10 at a time but there seems to only be a couple different types the most common being "Failed to stop coresetting" and "Catastrophic failure loading file:..."

Error Messages During Repair of SP2 HF1

Now the Process is w3wp mostly but everything else seems to be erroring out as well. In the last 15 minutes there has been well over 100 error logs generated.

From the first message, it sounds like your CoreSettings.config file is broken.  Check the directory:
C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Config\

and look for a file CoreSettings.config.  Most likely you'll have a bunch of them named something like "Backup 4 of CoreSettings.config".  Stop all the Altiris services, then rename the existing file to .backup or something, then rename one of the backups to CoreSettings.config.  Then, Start/Run/iisreset, then start the Altiris services again.

* Disclaimer:  I've only used NS7 a bit at this point, so the above are the steps I'd take to troubleshoot this sort of issue on NS6.
