Lotus Domino agent with Advanced open file option

Hi,
 
Currently I am thinking to buy new Backupexec 12.
Then I have a question.
 
Can Advanced open file option affect with Lotus Domino agent ? This means " Can Lotus Domino agent  use VSS technorogy with Advanced open file option ?".
 
Because now, our Domino server sometime has dead lock for domino database during backing up under BackupExec 11. And this server does not have VSS option under BackupExec 11. If this server has VSS option, I guess above issue would not be happened.
 
How about above ? Please teach me.

VSS is a service provided by Microsoft and was introduced with XP.Windows 2000 did not have the VSS.
AOFO is an option that is provided by Symantec and provides the same functionality as VSS i.e taking snapshots of resources.However some resources can only be snapped with VSS ,for eg the Shadow Copy Components.
The AOFO now comes free with the BEWS 12 license so you do not have to worry about purchasing the license for AOFO
for backing up the Lotus Domino databases use the LOTUS DOMINO AGENT
it does not have any conflicts with AOFO
