Yah, I did all of that and like I said there is plenty of space on the drive 109Gb.

There is no software firewall on the machine and the hardware firewall for the network does not have a proxy and is not blocking the content.

    Check this -

"Could not find install path for at least one component" error appears on a SEP client after LiveUpdate

    Hi RuiC,

Did u find a solution for your problem, i havethe same issue after upgrading from SEP 11 to SEP 12.1, am getting the same error :

LU1832: LiveUpdate was unable to uncompress an update because the update was corrupted during its download. Please run LiveUpdate again to re-retrieve your updates.

    i tried several things:

    -  unistalling LU and installing it again

    - deleteing downloads folder content

    - lucatalog -cleanup

    - lucatalog -forcedupdate

Clients are connected to the server but automatic update is not working.

    Regards,

    hisham

    Thomas,

This solution will not work very well for me as I don't have another server with the Management Server installed to copy the liveupdate configuration file from. I guess I could install it on a temporary VM but is that ok with the Licensing?

    Hisham,

I haven't found a solution yet keep monitoring this and as soon as I do I will post it.

    Thomas,

I installed the management server on a VM temporarily and copied the Liveupdate configuration file to my non working server and it didn't help.

It seems the problem is with uncompressing the files.

Well I got Liveupdate working correctly. I followed article TECH160736 but now I have a different problem, the clients are not communicating with the server I'll post that in another thread on this forum.

you need to restore the JKS files and server.xml from your old server.

If you are restoring Database you have to restore those files also.
If you are having those files copy keystore.jks to Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\etc and copy server.xml to Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\conf and reconfigure your server. You will get all your clients back in our server...

After i upgrade 11.x to 12.1 i also get these errors..

In my company the following procedure is the only solution to get rid of this problem:

    I uninstalled LiveUpdate 3.3.0.96

    Reboot

Installed LiveUpdate 3.3.1.23 (bundled in the SEPM 12.1 Full Package)

    lucatalog -update

    lucatalog -cleanup

    lucatalog -forcedupdate

    Cleaned-up Downloads folder(ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads)

Run LUALL.exe manually in Interactive Mode just for the 1st time.

Thanks to DenizIrde, who FINALLY provided me with the steps to resolve this problem!  I had exactly the same issue as above with 12.1, and your steps helped me solve it after hours of troubleshooting. smiley  Believe me, I tried EVERYTHING else that can be found in the support docs and the forums.  Followed the steps above exactly.

    1. Stop the SEPM service and then delete only the contents of
     "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads" and
     "C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp"

Delete the 9-digit numerically-named folders (the micro-definitions) inside each of the monikers, the long alphanumeric folders in  "\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\content"

    2. Start the SEPM service.

    3. Open the command prompt and navigate to "\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin" and type in the following command, "lucatalog -cleanup" and press enter & "lucatalog -update" and press enter again.

    4. Try running the Liveupdate from the SEPM.

(Note:  There is another LiveUpdate issue that might occur after performing the above troubleshooting steps in some scenarios. The LiveUpdate would be successful but still would not download the virus definition updates and show a note that, "No updates found for Symantec Endpoint Protection Win64" & "No updates found for Symantec Endpoint Protection Win32",  This is because Liveupdate is not integrated with the SEPM. Please perform a repair on the SEPM with the installation disk to resolve the issue.)
