  • 1.  LUA Adding distribution Center issues

    Posted Dec 02, 2014 04:03 PM

I am on the latest release that uses the tomcat over IIS config.  I am adding a 3rd distribution center on the sever.  The other 2 DCs are defaults.  I am entering the information just like the other out of box DCs that are pre installed, except changing the root directory to something unique

    I followed this article (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH136497)

I am still getting connection failed when testing. The port is on 7070. which is the same as the default Production and testing ports (which work)

I am using the lua username and password for this DC, like the other 2.  (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH193218)

I have restarted the tomcat service as well, but I am unable to distribute content to the NEW DC.

When testing the DC, I receve the error Connection to "DC" has failed.  It feels like a rights issue...I wasnt sure where the lua username and password came from, and if that can be locked out etc.

Id love to hear some ideas.

I just followed the process in that first article you posted, and all worked fine for me.  Things I noted during my attempt were:

    • I stopped all LUA services before starting, and only started them up again after the folder and file changes had been made
    • When editting the "clu.properties" file, I had to run my file editor as an admin
    • When the LUA services were back up and I was adding this new DC into the LUA itself, I just copied one of the default DCs, and changed the "Root Directory" field to my newly created folder

Hiting the test button returns a "Connection was successful" message here.
