I'd suggest to take regular disc images of the LUA server. Because when the database is somehow sorrupt or unresponsive, it starts downlaoding the whole structure again. And it is not nice, I hear you.

There could be a possibility that  Definitions would have  corrupted
We need to delete all the definitions and then Download the update again.

    Please delete :
    C:\Documnet  & setting /all user/application data/Symantec/Live update administrator
    C:\program files\symantec\liveupdate administrator\clu-prod
    c:\program files\symantec\liveupdate administrator\clu-test
Also Clear the cache downloads from liveupdate/downloads folder

You knew this was coming :)

I'm sure that will resolve it. You may want to use a product to regularly take images of the active disk on LUA server where you'll keep you LUA files (which probably drive C).
If you use Backup Exec System Recovery, you can even take incremental image backups of the disk. There are a few more brands other than Symantec as well. My advice would be using those in order to be able to recover quickly.

I tried to re-produce this issue in-house but was not able to do so..
The LUA definitions are getting corrupted but don't know how..
It can be a issue that my content filter (Proxy) is blocking the updates thus corrupting the definitons but i don't have access to that..
I did dig into my logs but din't find anything helpful.

@Fatih -I not sure why it happened again..however I have installed LUA on my home pc for testing this time which is directly connected via public ip..will check if it happens again...

However can you share you LUA logs if you still have it..Do you have any other tomcat application running on the same computer..this computer is going through proxy or is direct ?

I have found LUA getting corrupted more often than the embedded database of RTM but why i am still not sure..

    Hello Vikram.
there is a electricity problem in there.and server shutdown unexpected. therefore downloads currupt i thing so.
There is only one way to install LUA again.
LUA is very good program but maybe Symantec Employees create new version LUA. And can fix this currupt problem.
    @bekir
We haven't Backup Exec :( and I cannot take a image because it is a Exchange server and Database in C:\ drive
And d:\ drive is using by users for files.
That's why I cannot use image programs.

Aaahhh so LU1845 must causing the problems..Frequently disconnect from internet at the time of download it corrupts the definitions..
Once the corrupted definitions are processed mos of the time it make the LUA unusable..after that remidiating it ( clearing corrupted logs, tmps and definitons ) becomes difficult..Since the LUA is easy to configure program it makes sense to re-install sometimes..

Fatih you may want to try to separate the LUA server from the exchange and db server. If you dedicate a small PC for this job you may easily take images and restore them whenever you want. Otherwise you'll have to reinstall LUA everytime you have a problem...

    Regards,
