Can anyone here please assist me in configuring the Live Update Administrator v2.3.2 to download automatically Virus Definitions for Linux from the internet ?

I have set the AD user account (in DOMAIN\\Username format) and the proxy under the Configure | Source Servers page but I kept on this error whenever I'm doing the test connection. "Connection to Symantec LiveUpdate - HTTP Failover Server failed."

I have tested in the web browser using the username above to browse to the following Live Update servers successfully:

liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com over HTTP
liveupdate.symantec.com over HTTP
update.symantec.com over FTP

but how come the automated download is not working ?

You set that account for all the three connections under http / ftp tab?

check this document.

LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) returns the message "No Updates are currently available for the products selected in this schedule" when attempting to download new updates.

My LUA windows server got prompted for Java 7 Update 17, but I didn't clicked it.

Whenever I changed the Source Server page entries and click on [Test] button in the list of failover servers, it hangs with the "Page Cannot Be displayed" result in the Internet Explorer ?

This is happening locally in the RDP session.

here's the result when I edit the page to empty the Port number (highlighted field)

somehow the progress bar keeps on running until the page got timed out and the textbox value reverts back to where it was before (port 8080) thus making the connection to Symantec Live Update server failed ?

In your IE set the option for proxy to bypass proxy for local server address.

check the liveupdate in your control pannel. If  you change it here it should reflect.

Thanks for the reply, somehow the values are different :-/ from the Control Panel applet and from the http://localhost:7070/lua page ?

However I have changed the setting in the control panel applet to be "I want to use my Internet Options FTP settings" for all tab FTP, HTTP, ISP

are logged in local to the box or remoted in?

can you try to change that with mstsc /console if you have remoted in.?

Well I just MSTSC /V:Servername into it and it was hung like that whenever I tried to change the settings of the proxy port.
