Mac Installer: "sylink.xml file is missing or corrupted in this package"

Created: 04 May 2012 | 2 comments

When attempting to upload the Mac Installer for SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1 (Version 12.1.1101.401) from SEP_MAC directory included in MP1 install files, I receive the error message "sylink.xml file is missing or corrupted in this package".

SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1 32BIT and 64BIT for Windows directories import without error.

Mac Client install directory does not have a sylink.xml file to allow for manual import.

Problem:  How do I install new package for Mac clients in SEPM 12.1 RU1 manager, without upgrading entire manager to MP1, so I can perform testing of new MP1 package to QA Mac hosts?

Hi,

try to import the package from the folder SEPM\packages instead of client folders.

Hello,

For Macintosh SEP Export Package the correct source path needs to be directed to an .info file under the following location: <Installation_source>\SEPM\Packages\Sep_mac.info

The files can be found either in the complete download e.g. Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_RU1_Part1_Installation_XX.exe or Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_RU1_SEPM_XX.exe (SEPM only)

Hope that helps!!
