  • 1.  From Mac OS X 10.6.5&PGP DT Pro 10.1.0 to OS X 10.6.7&PGP DT 10.1.2

I currently have a MacBook Air 250G Mac OS X 10.6.5 encrypted with PGP Desktop Pro 10.1.0. I wish to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.7 and PGP DT Pro 10.1.2.

Exactly how do I do this? Upgrade PGP first or OS X first?

Are there any risks to this upgrade? If so, how do I limit this risk?

    Thank you,

    1) Make sure you have a good, unencrypted backup (I prefer a clone to time machine).

After that the upgrades should work in either order.

Always, Backup before upgrading OS or Encryption software.

Install PGP Desktop 10.1.2 update first, then osx 10.6.7 update. In the past(10.6.4, 10.6.5)  users had issues with updating from Apple's Software Update function built into osx and recommend using Apple's Combo Updates (downloaded from apple's site) instead. I didn't have any issues upgrading from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7 using software update, i had pgp dt 10.1.1 installed at the time with a WDE encrypted boot disk.
