I have PGP Desktop 10.1.0.860 on Mac OSX 10.8.3 (after migrating from OS 10.6) but now I can't open it on that OS (Can only open the 'PGP Viewer').
How and when can I download PGP Desktop or Symantec Encryption Desktop or Mac WDE that works with Mac OSX 10.8.3
Can support contact me when that's available.

As you can see in this Knowledge Base Article, PGP/Symantec 10.3 does not support your OS.  10.3MP1 is a more recent release, but the Release Notes do no indicate OSX 10.8.3 support.  This KBA indicates that for Symantec/PGP 10.3MP1 "10.8.3 has been partially tested (official support should be in an upcoming release)."

I'd suggest checking these three references for OSX 10.8.3 support in future PGP/Symantec releases.

    Hello jq3478grstg

As mentioned in the above post, the version that your using is an old one. If you upgrade to the latest version of PGP which is 10.3 MP1, the product should work just fine on your MAC machine.

    Guys, help me with this:

I have a mac book pro with MAC OS X 10.8.2 and PGP agent 10.3 version installed. The policy I have is WDE only. My question: Its a problem if I update to MAC OS X 10.8.3? PGP stops working? or nothing happens?, cause the user owner of the mac could update to 10.8.3 or simply automatic updates could be on.

    Thanks a lot!

    Fernando.

For what it's worth, we have not seen any major issues related to the upgrade of Mac OS X to version 10.8.3 on a Symantec encrypted drive. however, QA did the official release testing and compatability testing around our Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.1 version which is still undergoing testing and code verification for release.  In the meantime, we can offer best effort support for Mac OS X 10.8.3 on current version (10.3.0) with the latest updates. Please do verify that you have valid backups using Time Machine or something similar prior to updating however.  Let us know if you have any other questions.

WARNING: We had one report from someone today that the Thunderbolt update bricked their Macbook Pro which only had PGP Desktop installed. It was not encrypted in this case. So use caution with this update until we have more specifics.

UPDATE: The thunderbolt firmware update issue at this point seems to be an isolated incident. 10.8.3 is now listed as supported.
