We are investigating rolling our SEP to all our MAC’s

We have picked up an issue where Symantec Endpoint Protection on MAC can only update via the internet.

Is there a fix for this?

yes, MAC operating System gets update only from symantec Liveupdate or internal Liveupdate server

Hello,

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager is not able to host or make available content (definitions or product updates) for SEP for Mac clients.

All updates must occur through LiveUpdate, either from Symantec's servers, or from an internal LiveUpdate server using LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA).

Please see 'Using the LiveUpdate Administrator on a PC to download updates for Symantec Endpoint Protection/Symantec AntiVirus 10 for Macintosh clients' for information on how to configure LUA for this content. 

Note: it is not recommended or supported for LUA and SEPM to be on the same physical server.

Just to clarify, this is not an issue in the sense that something is malfunctioning. This is currently working as designed at this time. Content delivery from the SEPM isn't possible, primarily because of the differences between the LiveUpdate the Windows product uses and Java LiveUpdate (which the Mac uses).

(Mithun has copy-and-pasted a bit from the FAQ. Mithun, it is best practice to indicate when you're doing so. I wrote most of that article, and I wrote the words you pasted above.)
