This issue has been solved. See solution.

I am using 7.1 SP2 and in the user guide for MAC it indicates in order to import into the software library that I should zip my mpkg file and then choose that file.  When I do that the command line it runs is just unzip, is there something else I should be doing?  The Mac users guide doesn't really have information on importing packages just the basic creation of the task and installation of agents.

Any help on how to import and deliver packages to MAC would be appreciated.

On the last step of Software Release import process(if you used wizard) there is a checkbox - "open software release for editing when finished" - if it was checked you will be in a right place.

If Software Release is already imported - Go to Manage -> Software/Software Catalog. Find your software release and double click on it(or using right click choose edit software)

In new window that appeared choose Package tab and at the bottom of the page click Add command.

Add/Edit command line window should appear. Set Command name, choose your package, set installation fily type to zip and press Edit button.

New ZIP command builder window should appear - set your zip package as installation file; Choose Mac OS as supported OS; Action should be set to Native package installation; Click generate command line and new command line(that will not only extract zip archive, but install mpkg as well) will be generated - this command line you can now use in your managed delivery policies/tasks.

I have attached simple screen shot with steps you need to perform from Software Release edit window!
