  • 1.  Machine not showing in Console

I had a machine that wasn't allowing me to install the Client on it. So I followed the steps here:
    https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=17450&p=1

Once that was done, the client installed and appears to be running fine on the PC. However, it won't show up in the console.

I've reset the Altiris services on the machine to attempt to force a connection, but Deployment Console still won't show the PC. I've tried searching by Name, Computer Name, IP, and even Mac Address and still not finding it in the Console.

I've tried running a query on the Express DB for the Name and the Mac and not finding it.

I check the Axegine.log and axengine_2.log and I can see where it appears that the machine in question is checking in, but the Console still won't show it.

During this testing, I noticed the Console Manager wasn't running. I started it, and I've restarted the Data Manager and DB Manager, and even after repeating the steps above again, I still can't get the PC to show up in the Console, even though it does appear to check in, according to the log file.

    Any clues?

Also, I just reset the Agent service on the machine, and again it shows up in axengine.log but is not showing up in the console.

When you double-click on the systray icon. What does it say the status is? If the systray icon is hidden. You can get to it by typing aclient -status at the command prompt in the AClient directory. If it is working properly, the status should be "Client Record Updated"
