Mail-flow clarification needed

Just a quick question on mail-flow through the Brightmail interfaces.  Does the gateway relay messages between the inbound and outbound interfaces?  For example, if our mail server sends an outgoing message, it enters the outgoing interface, but does it leave the outgoing or incoming interface when it is destined for the internet?  Thanks.

It depends on "SMTP Delivery Bindings" settings on "SMTP Advanced Settings" page (Administration > Configuration > Edit Host Configuration > SMTP > Advanced Settings").  Please see the topic titled "Message delivery phase processing details" on page 53 in Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.0 Administration Guide.

Thanks Adnan,  I just set my "non-local message delivery" to be the inbound IP address.  This should solve our NAT issue.  Thanks for the clarification.
