  • 1.  Mail proxy question and Web email protection not sending replies to internal users.

Our firm is setting up SEMS and I have a few questions.

All our users are all configured MAPI outlook > Exchange 2007

I've installed PGP desktop and all users can send outbound secure and unsecure.

Our non-pgp recipients get Web Email Protection link emails, and they can access the portal. when they reply, the website states their message is sent, however our internal users never recieve the reply.

Also, I have played with mail proxy for awhile and believe since all our users Outlook accounts utilize MAPI and our mobile users connect via ActiveSync, mail proxy is not required. (I have since disabled the feature and all works with or without the service on.)

Does anyone have any answers that can help us get this system working correctly?

    Hi dazedays,

Have a look into this forum thread:

    http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/pgp-universal-server-internal-users-not-receiving-web-messenger-replies

    --snip--

    1. Check the logs - do you see anything strange there
    2. Try to restart services on SEMS > System
    3. Check postifx logs on server and search for any delays.

I have also attached the Web Messanger configuration guide.

Thanks for the reply. I did resolve this once I found NDR's in my recipient test account. Here was the message:

This is the mail system at host keys.xxxxxx.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <pgpuniversal-admin>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

                       The mail system

<xxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com>: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for
name=xxxxxx.com type=A: Host found but no data record of requested type.

Since the server is located on the internal domain, and DNS points to our AD/DNS servers, I got suspicious the issue could have something to do with the SEMS Mail>Mail routes settings.

The section had no settings configured, but in greyed out the window indicated: "your mail is being routed normally." I added the internal domain name and the IP for the Exchange Server's IP address and the system has been fine since.

    Hi dazedays,

Good to know that you resolved the issue by yourself so you can mark as solution your own respond for others to know that this forum thread was resolved.
