This issue has been solved. See solution.

I'm trying to restore single Mails to our Exchange-Server which fails with Error "0xe000848c - Unable to attach to a ressource".

Our Systems:

- Server 2003 SP2 with Exchange 2003 SP2

- Server 2003 R2 SP2 with BE 2010 R3

- Backup on HDD

- BE-System user has full access to the information store on the Exchange server.

That's what the log says:

BEREMOTE: [02.25.13 11:14:17] [0000]     02/25/13 11:14:17 [ndmp\ndmpcomm]      - ndmpdDataConnect : Data Connection information: A connection was established between end-points [Backup Server]:1393 and [Mail Server]:8192.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for you reply!

I noticed that the "BE Server" Service is run with our domain-admin account which was also used for some of our backup jobs. I changed the backup jobs to use the BE system account. Now it works!

For some reason i can't use another login account für the "Backup Exec Server" service. Even with the BE system account it wont start up. I hope this doesn't cause any other problems.
