Mailbox to .PST restore error

Created: 15 May 2013 • Updated: 28 May 2013 | 4 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

In the past I have been able to restore a mailbox to a .pst file.

But today I am getting error that says "Remote Agent not detected on _____"

I have manually installed the agent on destination machine. And I installed agent from the Backup Exec interface. And Outlook 2007 is installed.

The only change since my last restore is that I installed 6 hotfixes for backup exec.

Hi,

Did you push-install these fixes to any remote servers you might have?

Is the RAWS agent running on the target server?

Thanks!

It looks like the push install only does the Remote agent? (I don't see selections to do hotfixes. Maybe the hotfixes are only media Server related)

(The remote agent service was running on destination node)

...the push-install of the RAWS agent will apply any applicable patches to that RAWS agent, so you won't see any options to do hotfixes. This is built-in.

Thanks!

CraigV.....excellent.

I did a push install of the RAWS (I thought I had done so prior) and when I selected the target Server, it found the same number of 'updates/hot fixes' as recently installed on the media Server.

I then successfully tested a mailbox backup. (Interestingly, I still don't have CDO installed on the Exchange Server...but this mailbox to .pst restore still works)

Thanks again!
