Is a maintenance release coming soon?

Just wondering if there is going to be a MP or MR release for SEP soon. From reading this forum I understood that it was supposed to happen by now.
Any Symantec people have any idea?
Thanks

Yes the above statement is holding true. MR1 has been posted to the Platinum support site so if you have access to that you can download it now. It should be on file connect shortly. As for a heads up on what is fixed see the folowing link.

Please do not post MR1 to rapidshare or any similar site, especially since no license file is required to use it. Please check fileconnect to see if the download is available, basic and gold customers on this forum have already managed to download it - if it isnt on fileconnect it will be soon and you can always call support and get it from them.. Will the MR1 be available through LiveUpdate? If so, then when?

It's info from Symantec training session that one of my coleagues attended:
MR2 has been suggested as the new baseline as to what people should be installing from now on when talking about SEP 11, obviously once it is on full release which is not officially until the 21st of March.
Public beta release should be available at the end of this week or at the end of next week but there were no promises.
MR2 has been marked as something that will involve major improvements for Small Business Server.
It has been strongly stressed that the av and antispyware component should be rolled out first and then after learning a lot more or when people and/or network are ready only then configure as needed and test as you go along on select or test machine before rolling out completely to the whole network.
The new default policy for firewall has been softened so can be deployed if need be out of the box, as in without creating your own policies.
New feature during the install with 2 options, simple and advanced.
Simple should be used for under 100 users and advanced you can specify obviously how many.
Then less options than before to configure so has become more seamless.
Now during install it captures the administrators account email address by default for reporting which obviously can be changed later on.
Verifies IIS config as part of the wizard.
Minimum of 1GB RAM unlike the necessity for 2GB in previous releases.
Exclusions of Active directory domain controllers and SEPM embedded DB &t-log(s) now included by default.
Release MR2 will support Windows Server 2008 and Server Core
The Activescan when new defs arrive is now unchecked out of the box with MR2.
MR2 is promised to be a lot lighter.
The console is promised to have better performance and the availability of latest virus defs available and what the latest defs are from Symantec and on the console on the main status page.
