Manage 12.x clients on 11.x SEPM

Good afternoon,

 

Is it possible for SEPM on 11RU7 to support clients on 12MP1?

You will not be able to take advantage of all the features of SEP 12.1 without the SEPM being 12.1

Hello,

maintaining a consistent release version across all SEPMs and SEP 11 clients in an organization is not a requirement for support. It is supported to have newer SEPMs managing older SEP 11 clients, and older releases of the SEPM should be able to successfully manage SEP 11 clients that have a newer version of the software. These configurations are not recommended, but can arise as complex organizations perform testing and trials in accordance with their change management policies.

 

If the SEPM is 11 & clients 12. You will see the clients in SEPM, but the definitions will not be updated.

If the SEPM is 12 & clients are 11. no worries. It will be good

Hi C_olson,

 

I really recommend upgrading the SEPMs in an organization before upgrading any of the SEP clients.  Having the latest SEPM release also means that it is easy to upgrade all of the SEP clients it controls via the auto-upgrade feature.

we tried this, the clients with 12.1 was not updating definition from SEPM 11 RU7.

Before upgrading the Version in 12.1 firstly update with 11.7(MP1). It required.
