    Hi All,

Can anyone  pls. suggest me is it a good idea to put locations instead of adding goups. Whether there will be any performance issue by adding locations as the client will search for the location(Default - 4 Seconds) it belongs to based on the condition mentioned.

    With Regards

The number of location should be limit.

If you want to differentaite the clients, use the groups.

"Location Awareness "should be used when the clients changes the location.

If you add locations, the location specific policies, will apply to groups only right ??

its same like adding new groups, but here u wil specify conditions, thats it

    Hi,

The more groups we have, the same no of packages we have to create, but in loactions only one package is enough. the client will decide the location based on the condition & it will use the policy for that location only. Am I correct?

    Hello,

    I have some questions.

Why would you like to have create locations rather than groups?

Are all your clients portable computers?

Hope your doubts would be cleared from the Following Knowledgebase articles:

Having more than 7 locations per group can lead to SEPM and database performance degradation.

    create only one package,

let them come to default group, then use the moveclient utility to move between groups, more the package u create , more space is needed and often its confusing ;)
