Managed SEP Clients through proxy MAc OSX
Hi there,
I have a question regarding SEP 12 clients on my Macs.
We have 40 managed macs through SEPM, the policy is set to check every 4 hours to update it's virus definitions.
We use the liveupdate server from symantec to retrieve the virus definitions, but to make that connection a proxy server must be defined.
When I edit the /ETC/liveupdate.conf with the line: proxy=myproxyserver:8080 and I run liveupdate at the machine, all works fine.
The problem is that every 4 hours the liveupdate.conf file is being replaced/edited and the line proxy= etc is gone.
So the next time the connection can not be made.
is there a way to define the proxy somewhere at the SEPM so that the proxy line is being distributed within the liveupdate.conf
Or is there another way to maintain the proxy line in the liveupdate.conf so it won't be edited all the time?
Greetings and thanks allready!
Edwin
UPDATE: Found it, In SEPM Location Specific settings, external communication settings, Proxy Server (MAC)

Just saw the 'update'--was going to point you to an article that described this.
