This issue has been solved. See solution.

My office has a non-domain network with about 30 machines and we recently migrated the AV solution to the SEP 12.1 platform. My department was tasked with the management of this network, so we are looking for features in the SEP administrator console that would allow us to push down non-SEP type of customised upgrades i.e installers for new browsers, mail clients etc to the end users. Are there any?

Many Thanks

J.mills

As per my understanding you are asking about upgraded patch management which are not related to sep client patches. It is possible from SEPM Server because SEP only deploy the SEP Client Package.

For ther other patch upgrdation you need to do it from Altiris Server.

This is not something SEP will do. You will need another product to do this such as SCCM.

Hello,

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console only deploys the SEP Client packages and sylink.xml communication files (since SEP 12.1 RU2)

However, for your special requirement Symantec has a Product called - Altiris Deployment Solutions.

http://www.symantec.com/deployment-solution

Hope that helps!!

Hello,

SEP doesn't have this functionality.

You need to use other Symantec product i.e. Altiris Deployment Solutions.

If using AD then GPO can be used for third party deployment.
