    This is rather hard to explain, so I'll try visual reference here.
    I noticed that as computers were ADDED to our AD - they were not getting the agents installed.
    At first I found it was because there's an issue with the agents automatically installing like they should, but when I got that looked at I found that we had a second issue related to the same RESULT.
    The server isn't even going through AD like it used to. It used to, months ago, do fine going through AD and adding computers as it found them in AD. But recently several have been added to AD but not found in the Altiris stuff.
    That led me to an error I cannot make go away, and I can't find any log entries related to this issue.
    Note it says shutdown in progress - uh, no, there's no shutdown in progress.
    I restarted altiris services and it found a computer - great it's going to work, but no, the error still shows, it never went away and new computers still are not found. I bet if I restart the services AGAIN the new computers would be found.

    Task error, shutdown in progress - bunk, there's no shutdown. This will NOT go away. IT stays and the server will not find new computers until or unless I restart the altiris/Symantec services - then it does at that time, but not later like it should. It's a 1-time kick in the seat is all it does.

    So currently there's not a bloody thing automatic about any of this - if we add computers to AD I have to restart the altiris services. I have to deal with getting the agents pushed out to newly found computers, but to find them I have to force it to find them.

    I can't make this screen change and that green task error error go away not matter what I do!

    Hi,

    is there anything in the LogViewer while trying to execute this import rule? The LogViewer can be found in Start > Programs > Symantec > Diagnostics > Altiris log viewer.

    Have you tried to recreate the rule?
