I am running SFMS 1.1.1 on Solaris, and when installing SF 5.0 on a Client with MP1, I get the following error:

Verifying "vea_agent" password .......................................................... ok

Contacting the SFMS server at "server_name" ......................................... fail

Management Server Process "./vxsvc" on server server_name.domain is not running

This issue may be related to the issue documented in support.veritas.com/docs/286164

Is the procedure in that document helpful to you and are you able to start vxsvc with this command?

/opt/VRTSob/bin/vxsvcctrl start
