Manual conversion from unmanaged to managed instructions needed

This issue has been solved. See solution.
Hello,
I have Endpoint Protection Manager Version 11.0.5002.333 on my server and I can't push to 2008. The client version is 11.0.4000.2295
Since EPM can't seem to push the client I'd just like to manually manage it. I read an article but it seems different for each version MR1,2,3,4 and those releases are not obvious to find so I'm not sure what I need to do.
Thanks,
-Mathew

1.Copy of the file Sylink.xml from the server from C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\outbox\agent\
2. On the client computer , click Start > Run, type smc -stop, and click OK.
3. Copy the Sylink.xml into the C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection folder, and replace any existing Sylink.xml file.
4. Click Start > Run, type smc -start, and click OK.

The instructions are
The instructions are essentially the same for converting them from unmanaged to managed; what changed as of MR3 is the method for obtaining the correct sylink.xml. You used to have to drill down to find the sylink.xml via the Windows UI. Now it's a matter of "Export Communication Settings" within the SEPM itself.

Steps 2-4 given above are still perfectly valid.
