This issue has been solved. See solution.
First is first.. I know.. Software Portal.. I am working on getting my team "comphy" with the thought of the Portal. I want to use it..
the current NS6 way for us is for the tech's to double click the Altiris Agent and install from there. We dont distribute software on a schedule, nor do we add a machine to a collection and have it go immediately.
so example..
Adobe Pro 9
In NS6 it is tied to All Computers and set to manual and you can install from the Agent window.
in 7.1
I created a filter and added my test machine
Software install policy I set as attachment
I now get it listed in the Altiris window but will not install due to the 2020 available year.. if I dont do that.. it will install automatically..
help appreciated...

Hello Me again,
Software portal is what would fit best for requested software. but yeah..
So from memory what you can do is select from the schedule area the User Interaction box: Allow User to turn on policy from the symantec management agent
then select user must turn on from the symantec managment agent.
Remove the remediation ticks as that will force the auto install if not compliant.
you shouldnt need the to have a cimpliance schedule time either.
give that a go. it should work as it worked on my test machine.
Regards Jim.
