Manual 'Store in Vault' shows In Progress after 1 day.
Hi I am an end user and we recently have the abiltiy to manually store into the vault. I selected the emails clicked on the icon and everything seemed to go well with the normal excel icon changing to store in vault in progress.
We also have an automated process which archives beyond 90 days and you can see that the icon is different.
The problem is that in progress archive still retains the file in Outlook and contributes towards mail box size.
Is there something else I need to do or have system support set up the manual archive wrong?

Send to Vault: does it only mark the emails as ready to go?
It seems like when you request a Send to Vault what it does is mark the emails as ready to go to the vault and shows them with an in process of being sent to the vault icon.
Does anyone know if this is correct? Any replies appreciated.
I am seeing the same issue.
Does anyone know why the store in vault task is not completing? Items are waiting but not being moved.
Help is much appreciated. Thanks.
it's a configurable setting.
it's a configurable setting. sounds like you're that your items are pending archive due to the fact that it's waiting for backups to run.

It depends which mode the client is in. If it's the DCOM mode, then the request is packaged up and send to the EV server all in one go. If it's the lite, or HTTP client, then the item is marked as pending, and a seperate thread sends a HTTP request to the server to do the archiving of messages matching a particular "stamp"
In both cases the client marks the item as pending, and changes the icon.
The icon won't get "totally changed" until, as AndrewB says, the archived item has been backed up.
Note, in some clients there was a bug relating to the HTTP client, and all items would stay pending indefinitely. Which version of the client are you using?
Thanks
