  • 1.  Manual Uninstall of SEPM Instructions Are Missing

    Posted May 18, 2012 10:21 AM

I'm trying to (finally) upgrade 11.0.6100 to 12.x, and in order to do so, it is telling me to uninstall my 11.x version.  I tried to do so through Add/Remove programs, and that doesn't work at all.  Then I looked up the instructions on KnoweldgeBase, and when you click on the article for uninstalling SEPM, it says there is no article associated with this URL.  When I try to create a support ticket to request the instructions and/or the CleanWipe tool, it requires a technical contact ID, support number, or technical case ID, none of which I have.

So ... how do I uninstall it so I can upgrade?

    Hello,

What version of SEP 12 are you trying to Install?

Is that SEP 12.1 Small Business Edition OR the SEP 12.1 Enterprise Enterprise Edition?

    Check this Article:

Supported Upgrade paths to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH163514

How many clients do you have in all on your environment?

Are you trying to Migrate the SEP from the Local machine or are you taking a remote Desktop for Migration?

In reference to the Manual Uninstallation Documentation, check this Article:

Manual uninstall documents for Symantec Endpoint Protection

Incase, you need Symantec Cleanwipe Utility, check this Article:

    Hope that helps!!
