Manually install Software Update plug-in

Hi guys,

Will there any issue created by manually install the Software Update plug-in?
When I deploy agent to windows pc, sometimes having around 10 pc cannot get the policy to install software update plug-in. I was try to run the msi file manually. Will it be a problems?

We are using the script where plugins installation is done and did not see any problems.

Do you get an error message? Is that the only agent that donot show up in the client? Did you check the logs?

It is strange that these computers did not receive Software Update plug-in Install policy...
How long did you wait for this policy?

Could you please check the following:

- Are these computers are added to Software Update plug-in Install policy targets?
- Is it possible to receive other policies on same machines?

 

Alternatively Software Update plug-in may be installed manually using MSI file. Manual installation should not cause any issues if correct version of Software Update plug-in was installed. Symantec Management Agent will report to NS Server about installed plug-in and then it will be ready to work.
