That's not possible right now, Liveudpate is the only way to update the PTP and the NTP

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting...

"Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"

I hope this request is getting at least a little attention. Being able to manually update PTP is something that would save a lot of effort for those of us who manage standalone networks.

Currenty we are copying over "select" files from the "AppData\Symantec" folder of a machine that can reach an update server. This seem to be "working" as the definitions date of "Proactive Threat Protection" is changing as we do it....but, I seriously doubt that this is what Symantec would prefer we do. I have every confidence that I'm missing something/lots of things by using this method, but at this point, what choice do I have?

My suggestion to Symantec: Make a PTP packager that runs on our one of our internet facing SEPM boxes (with a client loaded also). So the onus will be then on us to make sure our server is updated before running the packager. We can then move the package to our standalone networks and update PTP on individual machines.

Using this method would take the huge morgage off Symantec for maintaining yet another update repository...i.e.

You guy know what files we need to update, please either help us find them, or give us a method for manually updating them.

Please give it some thought.

Could you share which "select" files you copy over from one machine to your standalone machine?
