  • 1.  Manually update SEPM using JDB

    Posted Jun 11, 2009 06:30 AM
    Hi,

I've downloaded vd*.jdb and copy to \program file\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\data\inbox\content\incoming folder, the folder seems processing and CPU running high utilization but I waited for almost 1 hour , its was not showing anything and sepm still not updated. Did I make the right steps to update SEPM manually ?

    pls advise.

    The steps are correct
    Ref :http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007100820002048

Check in SEPm -Admin -Server--on the right hand bottom do you see any information about JDB failed to update ?
looks like its a issue with corrupt defs.

    the steps are right.
try restarting the sepm service and see if it gets an update.

Did you checked on the home page tab to see the definition?

hi, after overnite and when i check this morning, the jdb was gone and SEPM gets updated. Just unsure how long it will take , is it a bettra practise to copy it to folder by end of each working day ?
