This seems to be causing the problems.

Has this installation worked well before? Or new installation not working?

Which tape driver is used for tape drives?
Was Removable Storage Manager service stopped and disabled?

Have you checked Windows Event Viewer System and Application logs for errors?

If this was working well before, it seems like a good idea to power cycle the robot as well as the backup server.

Hi Marriane,

This was working before...and as well as we are not done any changes on the server.

HP OEM Tape drivers is use and also its upto date.

Removable storage service is not stopped its up and running.

In system event viewer i couldnt find any error related netbackup or tape drivers.

Let me check possiblity for power cycle the robot & server

Thanks for your input.

Removable storage service is not stopped its up and running.

This is a requirement on Windows 2003 media servers - RSM must be stopped and disabled. This service will 'fight' NetBackup for device control.

Before you reboot - add VERBOSE entry to ...\veritas\volmgr\vm.conf file.

This will ensure that all Media Manager activities/errors are logged to Windows Event Viewer System and Application log.
