Master Servers

Hi Experts;

Actually we have two diffrent DataCenter in Diffrent locations. Which better, to have two Master Servers in each datacenter or two have only one the main DC. link between DCs is 2 M.

  1. please i need two prove my selection to my manager, pleae explain?
  2. what is the new features in Netbackup 7 that let my migrate from 6.5 to 7?

i appreciate your usual helps.

It would most definately be beneficial

to have two different master servers, one for each datacenter.  Not only will you see better backup performance, having two master servers will provide you a level of redundancy you wouldnt have with just one.  If you deploy one, then if it goes down you lose backups for both DC's.  If you deploy both, obviously you've got a chance to at least back up half of your infrastructure.

For the second question, someone else should answer, as we have not yet moved to 7.
