The MD5-HASH.TXT at ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/antivirus_definitions/norton_antivirus_corp/ is missing today's DAT files.

Is this a common occurance?  I have developed an in house application that relies on the MD5-HASH.TXT file to verify downloads of the DAT files at this FTP location, and it is failing because the MD5 hash data for the following files is missing:

    20121012-002-v5i32.exe
    20121012-002-v5i64.exe

Can someone at Symantec update the text file, and elaborate on if this is the best method to verify the Hash of the downloads?

It's probably generated automatically. Maybe something went wrong with this process. I would continue to check periodically and put in a support call.

Looks like the file is updated now.  Weird.

I've seen it happen before. But, most of the time, no one notices and it's usually resolved by the time someone does.
