Dear All,

In MDM, I have had a look at the inventory for all of our iOS devices and in the Resource Manager, I see that there is no entry in the Inventory for IMEI Number.

Since this is such an important piece of information?! Is it called something else?

I have found that the IMEI is an attribute of the Mobile_Phone_iOS data class.

Now, why can I not find the IMEI in the Inventory?

The reason is that the Mobile_Phone_iOS data class is not being passewd back!!!

Anyone know why this is?

This appears to be an inactive data class.  My first guess was that you were gathering one half of the inventory, but not the other.  (There are two inventory types in Mobile Management, one through the MDM certificate and the other through the Mobile Management Agent itself.  If certain enrollment or configuration errors exist, only half of the inventory will appear for a managed device.)

However, I don't have this data class populated, and it's also not listed in the MMS Implementation Guide as being part of either inventory -- and it does exhaustively list which inventory covers which data class.

I have been told that this data class should be active. I am using 7.1 SP2, which one is the problem Inventory?

The IMEI was not collected in MR1 and earlier versions of 7.1, but as of SP1, the IMEI is collected and shows up in the Mobile_Phone_iOS class for the device.
So please check if:
- MMS 7.1 SP1 is in place  (7.1.2154)
- Mobile_Phone_iOS class for the device still does not show the IMEI?

Thanks for that. I had come to the same conclusion, as I just discovered that the system in question is MR1 and NOT SP1.
