If media A  is coming from slot 8 into the drive and currently media A is in drive.

Now in slot 8 i have some other media .Where will that media A will go AFTER it is full ?Drive will be down in that case?

Where to see the logs for this?

First of all, don't do such thing.

Although the media A is mounting in some drive, NetBackup's volume database keep it as inserted in slot 8. if you insert some other tape into slot 8 while media A is mouting, unmouting operation will fail with "robot operation failed" - this may result in dirve DOWN.

Just look into syslog.

Yasuhisa is 100% correct, plus you have asked this quesion before and we have answered it.

Doing this WILL result in drive being DOWN'ed.
The robot knows where each tape's 'home slot' is and needs to put tape back in home slot after dismount.

If it finds another tape in that slot, it will return a 'dismount failure' to NBU which WILL result in DOWN drive.

Did this actually happen, or is it a made up scenario you think an interviewer will ask about?

(I already know you won't answer, but I am posting this reply as a gentle request to the other helpful people who respond to you that they ask this sooner in these threads.)
