We are using brightmail vm appliance version 8.02 and searching for emails based on @ criteria but it does not show all the email received. is there a different wilcards i can use

did you try with just a dot ("." without the quotes) inside the mandatory filter value?

You may be missing the emails with blank sender, shown as (none) on the dashboard or reports.
Try performing two searches:
- one for "@" (without the quotes)
- another for "<>" (without the quotes)
The combined results should display all mail for the time frame selected.

How does your brightmail configure ? is it for INbound or OUTbound or both, what criteria you are searching like selecting "receipient"
and also make sure your audil logs is enable !!

Yeah right, Mikee is right. Make sure that Message audit log is enabled before any auditing infromation is available for viewing or searching since it is disabled by default. At thesame time make sure that it does not run out of space. Message Audit Logs do not have reserved disk space and are written to the data partition on the scanner. To check if you run out of disk space:
