This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

Good Day.

We are using Sep 12.1 RU1 MP1 and  we just want to give a pop up ( will use Java Script ) on client while they are using an un authorized application ?

Is it possible to integrate the same  with SEPM ?

Could any one suggest

Best Regards

Ajin

You can use the application and device control policy to monitor and block unauthorized applications.

How to use Symantec Endpoint Protection to block or log legitimate but unauthorized software usage

HI Brian,

Thanks for your response

Our intention to 1st we will warn the user via a POP up (using Java script) then we will lock that  machine.

You would need to use an ADC policy.

Are you talking about scripting something to do this?

I don't think that there is an option as such. You can use ADC for blocking un-authorized applications and set a notification for user that the application has been blocked.

But there is no possibility to send a pre-emptive notification that the used application is on the "to-block" list and that the block/lock will occur.

If it's hard-coded, you wouldn't be able to override it.

Hi

Thanks For your response

On ADC we can specify a Text but at machines it is not prompting the Full text while Blocking an Application.

I am afraid there is not much configuration to that - those messages are meant only as a brief pop-up notification to users that something happened and not a "full" pop-window that would give a detailled description.
