Messages stuck in queue

Created: 11 Jan 2013 | 1 comment

Hey all,

I have about 6000 messages stuck in my SMG queue waiting to be delivered to a specific domain.  The domain stopped accepting mail from us.  We are routing mail via a different route but in the interim until we resolve our communication with this domain, I have mail destined for that domain sitting in my scanner queues.  What I was wondering if there is a way to expire the messages and kick back an NDR to the senders?  I didn't see an easy way to do that other than to either re-route the messages to a different route or delete the messages entirely.  Any ideas?

Thanks

The configuration you are looking for is found at:

  1. Click Administration.
  2. Click Configuration under Hosts in the left pane.
  3. Edit the Scannner which has the mail queued
  4. Click the SMTP tab.
  5. Click the Advanced Settings button on the bottom.
  6. Click the Delivery tab.
  7. Edit the Sent Messages Time Out to your desired value .This will be the maximum duration till a message is tried .
  8. Click the Continue button.
  9. Click Save (optionally checking "Apply above settings to all Scanners" if wanted). It will restart the MTA .
