In Patch Management the vendors and software list is updating but when i run the task it doesnt pull in any software and patch updates. The last patch I received is for quicktime on May 17th. However, I know there are new patches for java and everything adobe. I am not seeing anything in log viewer aside from the task being placed in queue and "Generated empty policy XML for item: Software Update Plug-in Install; not sure if they're related.

Please check if the products you want updates for are still selected under "Vendors and Software".
If there everything is fine, please uncheck the "incremental import" box and repeat the import once with this setting.

It did the import but now when i go to download the packages it just says start pending for the status and never actually downloads anything.
Could you please provide a screenshot of that? I'm not sure what you are talking about.

After looking deeper I had a lot of other tasks that were status pending and this cleared them all up. According to the article this is a commong problem and I'll have to keep an eye on it.
