Yep - basics are shutdown services on both servers, copy catalogs and database information across to new server, start only SQL service on new server, run commands to change the servername inside the database and to upgrade the database schema, start the BE services, re-target all the jobs to devices on the new server, delete the 'orphaned' devices that are on the new server but are actually references to the devices on the old server.

There is a document somewhere explaining the process which I will post if I can find it
