This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

I want to upgrade my existing 32 bit clustered (MS failover) EV 9.02 enviroment to new 64 bit hardware and if possible straight to EV 10

I havent found a step-by-step documentation for clustered enviroments, i have two servers with same roles.

What steps i need to change comparing to the usual guide:

  1. Prepare new servers and install prequisites
  2. Backup all data
  3. disable all user changes and partition collectors (deletion, manual archiving etc)
  4. clear queques
  5. set backup mode to all index locations and vault partittions
  6. stop EV services
  7. run migration wizard on source server(s?), while logged in as EV service account, creating package for each machine
  8. shut down source servers
  9. add new servers with the name of old source server in domain and create appropriate DNS records
  10. attach storage with indexing data, vault partitions and shopping data to the target servers
  11. configure cluster with the same properties as it was on source servers
  12. install EV (can i go straight to version 10 or at first install 9.02, complete the following steps and then upgrade?) but dont run the conf wizard
  13. log in the first target server as the EV service account, run the migration wizard, configure the cluster accordingly and then run the migration wizard on the second node with appropriate package?

Thank you in advance,

Kriks

Hi, Thank you for the

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

So the only way to accomplish this, is to create a new cluster (names/IP-s of the nodes does not matter, only the name/IPs/resources of the cluster group, hosting EV?) and i basicly need to restore the old cluster on the new hardware?

It does not matter that old servers are 2003 R2 32 bit and new ones 2008 R2 64 bit?

And there is no way to use the server migration wizard and upgrade to EV 10?

Thank you.

Kriks

The Server Settings Migration

The Server Settings Migration Wizard supports clustered EV environments - have you checked out the documentation?
