  • 1.  Migrate SAV Corporate Edition from 8.1 to 10 MR9 - More question.

    Dear All,

    First I would like to let you know that I really appreciate the people who have helped me greatly during my first trial with Symantec. This is the most knowledgable community on Symantec Anti-virus. I'm glad I found you!

    I'm in preparation of my first migration of SAVCE from 8.1 to 10.1 MR9. I have a few more questions:

    1. I could not find the folder pki/root on my windows 2003 server which has the SAVCE8.1 installed. I thought I could like to make a backup of the old pki folder. Would you suggest that I just go ahead with the migration without backing up the old pki/root?

    2. In the Add/Remove program list, I noticed LiveReg(Symantec Corp), and LiveUpdate 3.2 (Symantec Corp), do I need to uninstall both of them before load the new version of SAVCE?

    Migrating to Symantec AntiVirus 10.1

     
    pki folder will be in parent server...do a search for the same..
     
    LU will be upgrade when you upgrade the the  version..not to worry about it..

    The PKI folder does not exist for SAVCE 8.x as it was introduced with 10.0 when we moved to secure (certificate encrypted) communications between SAV servers and clients.
