  • 1.  Migrate without upgrading client?

    Hi everyone,

Is it possible to migrate SAV 10.1.x clients to a SEP 11 parent server without upgrading during the process?  I do plan on upgrading them to SEP eventually...soon.  But, I'd just like to get them moved over to the new SEP server now.  Thanks!

During the process of upgrade from SAV to SEP first the SAV client is uninstalled automatically and then new SEP is installed over it.

A SAV client cannot be managed by SEPM console as  SAV and SEP use diffrent method and technology fo client commuincation.

also in SEP there is no concept of Parent server or Secondry or Primary server.

In SEPM only  groups are present.

The clients report to the server on which the SEPM console is installed. This SEPM machine is used a  server to the Clients.

SEP Client can also be pushed in Silent mode.

Silent mode gives you option to hide the installation from the user, Users can work on their computer while the installation is going on as this installation runs in the background.
