Hello,

In a few weeks I plan on migrating our file server (2003 storage server sp2) to new hardware running windows 2008 R2.

If I restore the data from 2003 to 2008 R2, will all the NTFS permsissions stay in tact?

Also can anyone confirm if this regedit for tranfering file shares/permissions works in 2008 R2

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/125996

I assume it does since 2008 R2 is in the "applies to section" but just wanted to double check.

Lastly if anyone has any extra advice, gotcha's etc.  Please feel free to share :)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Booty
