Migrating NBU 6.0 to new hardware ( solaris ) with the same hostname
Created: 16 Aug 2010 | 1 comment
All,
We are planning to move netbackup from the existsing solaris hardware to a new Solaris10 harwdware . While doing this, I would like to retain the same hostname. Can someone help me with the detailed steps. Also Can some provide some Symantec documentation on this ( if any )
Thanks,
Ricky

You can treat the procedure as a disaster recovery where the original master is lost and you have to do O/S install on a new server, followed by NBU install and then a catalog recovery.
The procedure is described in the Troubleshooting Guide, Chapter 7: Disaster Recovery.
