This issue has been solved. See solution.
We are TSPP cerified but have no certified catalog manipulation engineer.
I have read TECH31385 and TECH77448.
As we were told by local Symantec personal that doing so requires the above certification or Symantec will not support the new system in the future.
We are looking for a certified catalog manipulation partner/consultant that will provide us this service remotely for moving NetBackup from Solaris to Linux.
If you are willing to provide the service Please advise price and availability.

Your local Symantec representative is WRONG! No need for a consultant.
Just follow pre-reqs and steps in TECH77448.
The TN describes how to use catalog backup and restore for the migration.
If hostname stays the same, no catalog manipulation whatsoever is required.

I agree with Marianne.
I see no special skill requitred for this task. Especially as the steps are available on a public technote.

You absolutely can do it by yourself unless you have a lot of free money to pay for this migration or you don't believe in your skills :)
Cheers,
Mike
Thank you all for the encouragements.I really thought that an open Tech Note by Symantec is a "green light".
However as that customer is controlled by strict regulations (FDA), I better paly it safe.
