  • 1.  Migrating to SEP.cloud

    Posted Apr 20, 2015 04:32 AM

I have a customer with a SEP environment with a on-premise SEPM already running. I have to now migrate a branch to SEP.Cloud. What are the necessary steps in migrating the branch/ devices to the SEP.cloud . Do I need to uninstall the current SEP client and then re-install the cloud agent ? Also, is there an installation guide for  SEP.cloud web console ? I have checked by all I can find on documentation is how to manage the web-based console and deploy agents. What i am really after is the initial install to get the .cloud console up and running.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 (Enterprise) and Symantec Endpoint Protection.cloud are 2 different products.

In Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 (Enterprise), you have a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager installed physically on server whereas in Symantec Endpoint Protection.cloud you have a different Manager.

You cannot import any settings Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1 (Enterprise) to Symantec Endpoint Protection.cloud Support Manager.

In your case, you would have to uninstall SEPM and SEP clients (Enterprise) and then get the .cloud installed.
