Migrating from SW Delivery to SW Management

Has anyone attempted this with an off box migration? We are trying to assess the best way to approach this process and the big issue for us is actually moving the package files from NS6 to NS7.  We have well over a hundred packages in 3 different storage locations (some on the NS, some not).  I am wondering if it would it be better to start from scratch to try to copy the files over to the same relative locations on the new NS.  The ramifications of starting from scratch is then I would assume all tasks would need to be recreated.

Anyone tackled this?

Nothing large scale

I would definitely use the migration wizard to help out. In my opinion, manually moving the binaries wouldn't help much, if at all, due to the need to define the software library first.

Take a look at these, if you haven't seen them already. Might be some duplicate information here, and I know Joel Smith did a similar article on this site.

Migration wizard...

As Jim said, migration wizard is the best option to migrate the SWD 6.x data to SWM 7.0.
In migrastion wizard, you can see the SWD package file exporter/importer to physically migrate the package files to NS7.
The points to note are:
1. It will only migrate the package files that are present locally on the NS 6 machine.
2. If you have package files at UNC location, those will not get copied. User has to make these locations accessible to NS 7 machine in order to use these packages in NS 7 environment.
3. If the the drive on which packages are stored on NS 6 machine is not present on NS 7 machine, then there is option of selecting alternate drive to copy the files on NS 7 machine during data import.
